Try this it should raise a smile

The automobile driving manual says the average driver's
reaction time is: .75 seconds....... or 1 car length for every 10 mph......

Test your average reaction time..

Careful - this can be addictive. Click on the link below and good luck.

Reaction Test

Good Luck

I've seen that before, but I don't think it proves much (I guess unless you get a very poor time). I suppose it gives you a very best case possibility for your reaction time. I though Stressed Dave estimated 1.5-2s was typical in a driving situation.

At a local road safety event the trafpols had set up a reaction timer, of the "watch this, now stamp on the pedal" variety.

I was met by an aquaintance with the cheery "Unless you get 0.4s you're rubbish!" Wink I did Smile

We were all beaten by the celeb who opened the event - IIRC he was ITRO 0.2s!!! Shocked

And was nicked for drink driving a few weeks later . . . Rolling Eyes

That's not fair! In typical AD fashion I kept anticpating a sheep would move before it did and kept getting a 3 second penalty!

Fastest time without for me 0.17467 Wink

Fastest one off time for me was 0.000 (should have taken a screenshot!). Obviously I'm spending so long in front of a computer I'm getting telepathic. Otherwise my average seems to be ~0.25s

my best is .196 but average of .2376: I thought .2 was the average reaction of a fighter pilot as the highway code allows .4 i believe when calculationg stopping distances from memory. If I am not mistaken?? Came up a couple of years ago on a speed awareness workshop.
