Excellent vid I think.
With the number of people I see everyday still using a handheld mobile, is it time to show it on UK TV?
Would it have any effect? _________________ Martin - Bristol IAM Group Senior Observer and Secretary. |

Hah, cured you of that hand-held mobile phone usage while driving, has it?
How many tickets did you have to give yourself before the light dawned?
Best wishes all,
Dave. |

1. Yes, admittedly it is quite good.
2. Maybe, if you want to make a fuss about something that probably doesn't matter that much.
3. I doubt it. It may make a small difference, but not much.
With regard to the thread title, I'm not sure that's right. Good drivers should be able to drive safely and still cope with other things as well - within reason. Whether or not that includes using a mobile phone depends on the individual.
Best wishes all,
Dave. |

| Don't know why Youtube is misbehaving for me. Have just watched it on Google Video. Good of its type - but I don't really think it would change behaviour. Did not find it as good as recent uk road safety video. |

I was thinking of 'Perfect Day' which I saw shown on TV recently. Looking for a link, I have just discovered that it actually dates from 2004. It shows a motorcyclist being given warning signs for the sorts of hazards we are looking out for in rural conditions. It can be watched from here:

Cheers Dave.
I'll have to remember to behave myself on here.
I met Martin this morning (good evening Martin) and he persuaded me to join up. Will I finally get to see you on the 31st?

Welcome Steve - glad you've signed up - you won't regret it even if you have 'previous' with TripleS...don't let him put you off - he's not nearly as bad as he sounds. _________________ Martin - Bristol IAM Group Senior Observer and Secretary. |

Hello Steve,
Yes, unless some emergency prevents it, I'll be along on 31st May.
BTW, in case you're not aware of it, Mr Bitsy also hangs around here, but I think he only signed up so he could flash the pictures of his old Rover around.
Maybe he'll also get himself to Bristol for the day. It's only a few miles across country for him.
Best wishes all,
Dave. |
